DJ School... DJ Programs... The Blog is Back!
Been a while since we last had anything posted here about DJ equipment. Not that the interest has gone down, far from it. In fact, tmore than ever, the DJing industry is now getting a great deal of attention from just about everyone who's ever listened and partied to electronic music.
This overwhelming growth in interest on the art of DJing isn't just the kind where people are merely curious, nor is this about fan mentality. We are in a point in time where these people actually want to be DJs! Yes, you read that right. Those who used to just want to be seen in parties are now obsessed with going hands-on themselves and being the main men (and women) behind the decks. This trend - which is to some disturbing, and to others promising - naturally created a huge demand for resources for learning how to DJ.
In the coming days, we will be looking at these resources - the DJ school, DJ tutorial websites, and whatever else we can find that provides some sort of training for DJing. We'll also try to see how a DJ school helps new and aspiring DJs - of which we now have a lot - get a good grasp of the basics. We believe that with the proliferation of crash courses in DJing, a DJ school can only manage to teach the fundamentals given that these courses are very short-term, so we would like to see how that goes.
Also worth noting is the massive increase in the manufacturing pace of more and more DJ gear - both traditional and advanced - by the usual big names like Pioneer, Numark, Stanton, Technics, etc. as well as a good number of newer players such as Traktor, Rane/Serato, and others who are really stepping it up when it comes to the software side of the craft - the DJ programs.
Though traditional or manual DJing is still very much around, the advancement that characterizes digital DJing cannot be denied - and we'd also like to take a peek at this development aspect. So we're gonna be looking at DJ programs as well in our next posts. Do watch out for that.
Our blog here has gone inactive for quite a while but we intend to gradually get it back on track by posting stuff that DJing industry followers would love to get a hand on. It may not always be about "complete DJ equipment" (like we call the blog), but can be anything from tiny industry scoops to what's hot and trending. It's just great to be back!
